Gulf Coast homeowners breathe a sigh of relief- but a new storm is brewing…

Filed Under (Weather Updates) by Editor

Hurricane Gustav made landfall Monday morning as a category 3.  Homeowners and insurance companies alike were relieved at the storm’s weakening condition upon making landfall- previously threatening the coast as a Category 5 storm. While a full damage report is still pending, insurers already are predicting that damages will be no where near the property losses reported from Katrina 3 years ago. HomeInsurance.com’s partner company, Travelers, is already deploying their catastrophe claim specialists and mobile claim headquarters to the affected area.  Homeowners who need info on Travelers mobile claim headquarters locations should keep an eye on this Travelers Update.

As Gulf Coast homeowners breathe a sigh of relief the Southeast begins to brace itself for Hurricane Hannah which is intensifying and moving towards the central Bahamas. Hannah is expected to make US landfall somewhere on the East Coast between Georgia and North Carolina sometime Saturday morning. As the storm grows closer, severity of conditions will become easier to predict. Stay Tuned!
