INDUSTRY NEWS: Travelers Selected to Replace Citigroup and GM

Filed Under (Company News) by Editor

travelersHomeInsurance.com’s partner, Travelers Insurance, was selected to join the Dow Jones Industrial Average (DJIA) on Monday, June 8th. Cisco Systems Inc. joins Travelers as the newest members of  the DJIA after General Motors Corporation and Citigroup Inc. were removed last week.

GM had been one of the 30 Dow stocks since 1925 until filing for bankruptcy last week. Citigroup joined rather recently in 1997 only to now be replaced by Travelers who, ironically, used to be an insurance arm of Citigroup Corp.

The decision to add Travelers to the DJIA is a declaration of the company’s financial strength and dependability even in the current market. HomeInsurance.com is proud to partner with Travelers to offer the highest quality insurance coverage for all of our customers.
