Insurance agent news recently came by way of a new product from IBM that may help members of the industry serve their customers in a more efficient way.
According to the company, a new software product is now available to insurance companies that will allow them to mesh old systems with newer models of data collection and storage. IBM said that both clients and professionals in the market are becoming more particular about information, which is where its Insurance Industry Framework can come into play.
"IBM's unified software offerings are designed to serve as a springboard for transformation so that clients can focus their efforts on growth and innovation," Mark Lewis, general manager for the company's global insurance industry division, said.
Through the framework, different parts of an insurance company can use data to fit their particular goals. For example, one division can track fraud while another keeps tabs on customer preferences.
Advances in technology have affected other areas of data collection and dissemination within the industry, including the use of social networks like Facebook and microblogging sites like Twitter. Recently, the American Council of Life Insurers announced that it created an account on Twitter, which will help it communicate with industry members and customers.
