The story of HomeInsurance.com

HomeInsurance.com’s beginnings trace back to 1992, when company founder Carlos Lagomarsino opened one of the leading property insurance agencies in the country in Wilmington, NC. Within a few years, Lagomarsino decided to take his business model nationwide and offer customers across the country the best-selling combination of affordable premiums and reliable coverage.

The website that would become HomeInsurance.com launched in 2001 as MyStateInsurance.com. Six years later, he acquired the HomeInsurance.com domain name. The website and company soon became one of the first to offer comparative rates across the country – online and offline.

Since then, HomeInsurance.com has continued its growth, becoming a leader in home and auto insurance shopping services. The HomeInsurance.com online presence is comprised of a network of reliable and informative insurance sites, including HomeownersInsurance.com, acquired by the company in 2010. In 2011, the company made the Inc. 500 list of the fastest-growing U.S. companies, coming in at 61.

Lagomarsino sold HomeInsurance.com in April 2012 to Red Ventures, a Fort Mill, SC-based customer acquisition company.

With a team of licensed agents, sales team leaders, internet technology, and marketing professionals, HomeInsurance.com continues to offer affordable, reliable insurance coverage to homeowners across the country.
