About ASI

Founded in 1997, American Strategic Insurance, also known as ASI, is trusted by thousands of families to protect their homes, belongings and, most importantly, their financial well-being. Although ASI is a relatively newer company, they are growing and considered as one of the 18 largest homeowners insurance carriers in America. They were acquired by Progressive in 2015.

ASI offers policies in 27 states and they pride themselves on three key components: a positive and respectful attitude; speed in improving processes and business strategies; and constant innovation. ASI functions as an insurance group with multiple insurance companies under one common umbrella. Those companies include the following:

  • America Strategic Insurance Corp.
  • ASI Lloyds
  • ASI Assurance Corp.
  • ASI Preferred Insurance Corp.
  • ASI Select Insurance Corp.
  • American Capital Assurance Corp.
  • ASI Home Insurance Corp.

The company has earned a number of accolades for treatment of their employees, including a spot in Florida Trend Magazine’s list of “Florida’s Best Companies to Work For,” and the Tampa Bay Times list of “Top Work Places.”

Product Offerings

ASI Insurance specializes in condominium insurance, homeowners insurance, renters insurance, seasonal and investment property insurance, umbrella insurance, commercial insurance, builder’s risk insurance and flood insurance.

ASI home insurance allows homeowners to protect their biggest investment. An ASI home insurance policy provides both comprehensive property and liability coverage. There are also addition coverage options available such as replacement cost on personal property, increased limits on jewelry and personal injury.

Claims Process

ASI is transparent about their claims process, laying out a simple six step approach on their website: Customer makes claim, claims center assigns adjuster, adjuster reviews information, adjuster schedules an inspection, the claim goes through a final review, and the customer receives either payment, or, if the insurer finds the claim not to be valid, a letter of explanation. ASI’s website states that many claims will be resolved within 10 to 30 days of the initial report. ASI policyholders can files claims online or do so by calling ASI’s claims department.

In the event of a disaster, ASI’s Catastrophe Team will jump into action with ASI’s Mobile Claims Center. The mobile claims center, which is a motor home, can be deployed during floods, hail storms, hurricanes, tornadoes and wildfires. The team will work to help their customers recover from the unexpected.
